Wendy Webb Kumer was born, educated, and has lived exclusively in Pittsburgh her entire life. After attending Duquesne and Carnegie Mellon Universities, she launched an active private flute studio, eventually joining the faculties of CMU, Duquesne, Mercyhurst, and West Liberty universities. Her enthusiasm for flute choirs began in the early 80’s and has continued to be her passion and has taken her all over the US as a guest conductor and player. In 2001 the Pittsburgh Flute Academy opened its doors to hundreds of flutists of all ages and levels, offering lessons, classes, coaching, and flute choirs. As its Director, Wendy is pursuing her belief that flute playing can and will result in World Peace.
