Bio

Dr. Robinson is professor and former chair of the Department of Political Science (2009-2015) at ¾Ã¾Ã¹ú²ú¾«Æ·¾Ã¾Ã. He earned a B.A. degree from the Department of Government and Politics at the University of Maryland, College Park (1986), an M.A. in International Studies from the University of South Carolina (1991), and a PhD in Political Studies, with a specialization in Middle East Studies, from the University of Utah (1998). His teaching interests include Middle East Politics, Security Studies, Political Violence, and International Political Economy. Since arriving at ¾Ã¾Ã¹ú²ú¾«Æ·¾Ã¾Ã Dr. Robinson has created and added three new courses to the permanent curriculum: War and Peace in the Middle East (POSC 213); Comparative Politics of the Middle East (POSC 313); and International Political Economy (POSC 413). In addition he and SU Professor Emeritus Greg Cashman created and added the department's POSC 408 course: Political Violence and Terrorism.
