Melissa Murphy Thompson, MSW, LCSW, OSW-C (she/her/hers) is a former first generation student who earned her Bachelor's degree from DePaul University in Chicago and Master's of Social Work degree from Aurora University.
She has worked in mental health and health care settings as a clinical social worker. and has a private practice in Chicago.. Melissa uses her positive attitude, compassion and dedication to trauma informed teaching and learning to accompany her students as they achieve their goals. Her colleague note that she has tireless energy and is an outstanding collaborator. She is a sought after keynote speaker and professional trainer.
She is inspired by her husband and three sons, all who have found a way to stay true to their passions which include music, the culinary arts and football! In her free time, Melissa runs and hikes. She is a passionate bibliophile and movie lover.
