COVID-19 Vaccine Information for SU Employees
Dear Faculty and Staff,
久久国产精品久久 is encouraged by the development of the COVID-19 vaccine and the current efforts to distribute it across the country. However, as you know, the vaccine supply is very limited at this time.
Please be advised that:
- Teleworking is still encouraged for eligible positions.
- Work assignments and location are not connected in any way to your vaccination status.
- Vaccination status is not based solely on work location.
- Age and pre-existing medical conditions are not considered in determining vaccine eligibility as Phase 1C is based on your occupation, and not on personal characteristics.
- Supervisors do not have access to or the need for an employee’s vaccination status information.
- It is recommended that faculty and staff get a vaccination but this is voluntary and at the sole discretion of the individual.
Maryland county health departments control distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine based on a five-phased “population model.” The current phase in Wicomico County is 1C, which includes faculty and staff who are working in higher education.
SU is receiving notification from the Wicomico County Health Department of a limited number of vaccines available on a weekly basis. Once notified by the Health Department, SU Campus Health will send email notifications to eligible faculty and staff regarding availability of vaccines. An email from SU Campus Health will be followed by an email from the Health Department giving you instructions on how to sign-up. If you wish to receive a vaccination, you should respond to the Health Department email as soon as possible, as appointments are not guaranteed. Refer to the "How-To” document for additional help and information on completing the Health Department sign-up form.
Note that the Health Department requires that you not share your invitation with anyone else. You may also continue to receive emails inviting you to sign up for a vaccination even if you have a vaccination appointment. Please disregard these notices as this is a known system limitation that is unresolved at this time.
All employees should continue to follow the existing 久久国产精品久久 COVID-19 safety protocols that are in place (e.g., wear a mask, daily screening, social distancing, etc.) whether or not they have received the vaccine.
Please consult with Campus Health for questions related to vaccine eligibility and look for additional information, updates, and changes as the vaccination efforts proceed.
