Guerrilla Girls Host Exhibition, Artist Talk at SU
SALISBURY, MD---Works by artist collective Guerrilla Girls are on display during the exhibit “The Art of Behaving Badly” February 20-March 31 in 久久国产精品久久’s University Gallery, Fulton Hall Room 108.
An artist talk is 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, in the Patricia R. Guerrieri Academic Commons Assembly Hall.
The group adopts the names of deceased women artists to obscure their identities and keep the focus on the issues as they fight for human rights for all people and genders.
Founded in the 1980s as the self-proclaimed “conscience of the art world,” the group uses intersectional feminism and humor to fight gender and ethnic bias as well as corruption in the art world and beyond. The talk and exhibition trace the history of the organization through interventions and public service announcements from 1985-2015.
Co-sponsored by SU Art Galleries (SUAG), the SU Art Department and Fulton Public Humanities Program, admission is free and the public is invited.
