Center for Conflict Resolution and Center for Professional Development Present Negotiation and Resolution Workshops

SALISBURY, MD--- The 久久国产精品久久 University Center for Conflict Resolution and Center for Professional Development present a series of professional workshops focusing on negotiation and resolution starting Thursday, May 8.

The initial topic is "Conflict Resolution" followed by "An Introduction to Alternative Dispute Resolution Practices" on Wednesday, July 16; "The Dance: The Art of Negotiation" Friday, September 19; and "Advanced Negotiation" Friday, December 5. The workshops are designed for the continuing education of business owners, human resources professionals, doctors, legal professionals, law enforcement professionals, community leaders, educators and school administrators.

Vanessa White presents the May 8 and July 16 sessions. With extensive experience in developing and delivering conflict programs, White has developed community alternative dispute resolution programs. She also developed the Community Mediation Initiative of the Lower Eastern Shore.

Dr. Brian Polkinghorn and Dr. E. Patrick McDermott present the September 19 and December 5 sessions. Polkinghorn is an associate professor of conflict resolution and executive director of the Center for Conflict Resolution. McDermott is an assistant professor in the Department of Management and Accounting and Legal Studies at SU's Franklin P. Perdue School of Business. He has extensive experience in corporate labor relations and has served as labor relations counsel at ABC Inc. and the Walt Disney Co.

Workshops are in the Worcester Room of the Commons at SU from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. Continental breakfasts and mid-day refreshments are included. Program fees are $90 for each of the first three workshops. Program fee for the final workshop is $125 and attendance to the prior workshop, "The Dance: The Art of Negotiation," is required.
