The workshop is sponsored by SU's Social Work Department and Center for Professional Development.
Society, schools and families have seen an increase in child and adolescent disruptive behavior. This workshop provides social workers, counselors, educators and others who work with children and adolescents an opportunity to develop and enhance the ability to implement effective responses to disruptive behavior.
The workshop identifies risk and resiliency factors associated with child and adolescent behavior, types of therapy, model for interagency coordination and developing a continuum of care.

Seifert and Gavigan, LCSW-C, will present their Child and Adolescent Risk Evaluation (CARE), formerly CARVE. They will also provide information to respond to disruptive youths in a "How To" manual type format. Seifert and Gavigan will be publishing CARE with Research Press in January 2003.
