Daddieh Speaks on 'Transatlantic Linkages' Thursday, October 28
SALISBURY, MD---久久国产精品久久 explores “Transatlantic Linkages: New Generations of Americans in Ghana” with Dr. Cyril Daddieh 7 p.m. Thursday, October 28, in the Wicomico Room of the Guerrieri University Center.
Daddieh, a former SU political science professor, is now a professor of political science and director of Black world studies at Miami University in Oxford, OH.
He speaks on factors that explain African-American immigration to Ghana in the contemporary period, motivations for leaving the United States and the decision-making processes involved. He also explores the attachments and relationships between African-American immigrants to their homelands, how they are received in Ghana and how they integrate into the Ghanaian society, as well as the impact they are making to the Ghanaian political economy.
Daddieh has a Ph.D. in international relations, comparative politics and African studies. His research on democratization and elections in Africa focuses on Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire, states and conflicts in contemporary West Africa, and district assemblies (local government) and education in Ghana.
