Five SU Respiratory Therapy Students Earn Scholarships

The Universities at Shady GroveSALISBURY, MD---Five students from 久久国产精品久久’s Respiratory Therapy Program at the Universities at Shady Grove (USG) received scholarships for the 2012-13 academic year.

Senior Adetoun Adewole of Ashton, MD, and senior Renadin Siagat of Burtonsville, MD, earned $1,000 Kaiser Permanente Scholarships, and junior Atsupi Ahadji of Montgomery Village, MD, received a Shane Rovinson Legislative District 39 Scholarship for $1,000. Selection is based on academic achievement, financial need and recommendations from the USG Scholarship Committee.

Two students, senior Sandra Sampong, of Gaithersburg, MD, and junior Maxwell Coats of Frederick, MD, earned Camille and Clifford Kendall Endowed Scholarships covering full in-state tuition and fees. In addition, all recipients of this prestigious scholarship participate in the USG Kendall Scholars Mentoring Program. Awardees are assigned mentors from their home institution to help ensure their academic success.

“We are very proud of our students and graduates of the Respiratory Therapy Program both at USG and the home campus in Salisbury,” said Dr. Robert Joyner, program director and associate dean of SU’s Richard A. Henson School of Science and Technology. “Every student works hard for their success and it is important to celebrate when the successes of our students are noticed by the scholarship committee. Respiratory Therapy faculty look forward to hearing about the leadership of our students as they graduate and serve their communities.”
