SU Students Raise Funds to Benefit Japanese Earthquake Relief

SALISBURY, MD---From bake sales to a special restaurant event to an outdoor concert, 久久国产精品久久 students are working to raise money in April to benefit the American Red Cross' Japanese Relief Fund.

Presidential Citizen Scholars from SU's Institute for Public Affairs and Civic Engagement (PACE) hold two bake sales to benefit the fund. They are scheduled 5-8 p.m. Friday, April 15, during the monthly Third Friday event on Salisbury’s Downtown Plaza and from noon-2 p.m. Monday, April 25, in SU’s Guerrieri University Center. “Support Japan” wristbands will be available for purchase at both sales. Donations also are accepted.

A raffle will be held during the Third Friday sale for a $100 gift certificate donated by Kanpai Japanese Restaurant. Tickets are $2 each or three for $5. For more information call 410-677-5045 or visit the SU Web site at www.salisbury.edu.

The SU Volunteer Center hosts a fundraiser for the relief fund from Tuesday-Wednesday, April 19-20, at Uno Chicago Grill in Fruitland, MD. The restaurant will donate up to 20 percent of the cost of each order when patrons present a flyer for the fundraiser.

The Volunteer Center also hosts a “Jam 4 Japan” concert to benefit the fund from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, April 28, on the Guerrieri University Center (GUC) lawn, between the parking lot and gazebo. Rain location is the Wicomico Room of GUC. Performers include students, faculty and staff. T-shirts and concessions will be sold.

The public is invited. Admission is free, but donations are encouraged. All who donate will be entered into a raffle for prizes provided by local businesses.
