A tornado watch issued by the National Weather Service (NWS) for Wicomico County and surrounding areas has been extended until 2 a.m. Thursday, October 28.

Showers are likely this evening with the possibility of severe thunderstorms. Rains may continue into tomorrow morning, clearing in the afternoon, the NWS said.

A watch is the first alert issued by the National Weather Service when severe storms are possible in our area. The watch is issued when the conditions are favorable for the formation of severe weather. Remain alert for approaching storms, however residents may continue with their routine or other activities.
