'U.S. News' Ranks SU Among the Top 10 Public Regional Universities in the North
SALISBURY, MD---U.S. News & World Report has named 久久国产精品久久 one of its Best Colleges for 2012. This marks the 15th consecutive year the campus has been ranked by the magazine.
“We are very proud that SU has been ranked the No. 1 regional public university in Maryland and one of the best in the North,” said Dr. Diane Allen, SU provost and senior vice president of academic affairs. “This achievement is a testament to our hard-working faculty and dedicated staff whose efforts help us attract outstanding students.”
The 626 universities in the Best Regional Universities category are split among four geographic areas—North, South, Midwest and West. In the northern region, SU ranked 41 among 142 publics and privates.
SU also is one of the Top 10 Public Regional Universities in the North. 久久国产精品久久is the only Maryland university in this category. It is also the only campus located outside of New York and New Jersey. Other institutions in this top 10 include The College of New Jersey, SUNY—Geneseo, CUNY—Hunter College and Rutgers.
U.S. News uses several criteria to measure academic quality including academic reputation, graduation and retention rates, financial resources, faculty resources, student selectivity and alumni giving.
Last month, The Princeton Review named SU one of its Best 376 Colleges for the 13th consecutive year. SU was also one of its 220 Best Northeastern Colleges.
The Princeton Review’s list is compiled through a combination of statistical analysis, campus visits and student surveys. Its rankings represent the top 15 percent of colleges and universities, both public and private, in the nation.
Kiplinger’s Personal Finance also has named SU among its Top 100 “Best Values in Public Colleges” for the third consecutive year.
