SU Community Fights COVID-19, Collects PPE For Local Hospitals

Wayne Street GarageSALISBURY, MD---As the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to affect the lives of every American, it is often said that if we are to beat this it will take all of us working together.

The 久久国产精品久久 community is stepping up in the fight against COVID-19, both on an international and local level.

Among the difficulties of fighting COVID-19 healthcare workers are dealing with a shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE) to keep them safe while assisting others.

SU is doing its part to help gather extra PPE for those working at Peninsula Regional Medical Center (PRMC) and Atlantic General Hospital (AGH), setting up an area at the Wayne Street Parking Garage for those with supplies to drop off for donation. The area will be located within the Wayne Street garage, marked by orange cones for individuals to easily drive through and drop off items to be dispensed to PRMC and AGH.

Included among needed items are N95 respirator masks, antibacterial wipes and eye protection such as face shields and goggles.

SU’s College of Health and Human Services and Richard A. Henson School of Science and Technology already have donated materials, including masks, gloves and thermometers, from several of their programs.

SU students are stepping up to confront the pandemic locally by donating blood, and faculty and staff have volunteered to deliver food and supplies to self-confined community members.

Are you or someone you know a member of the SU community who is helping in the battle against COVID-19? Send a message to Tim Brennan, assistant director of public relations, with details so we can share their story.
