SU Hosts 45th Annual Philosophy Symposium

SALISBURY, MD---久久国产精品久久 hosts its 45th annual Philosophy Symposium 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Saturday, March 1, in Conway Hall Room 153.
This year’s symposium revolves around the theme “Attending to Others: Philosophical Orientations to Education.”
When we are orienting our education, what should we be most attentive to? The natural world? Other cultures? Our humanity? The Philosophy Department invites Drs. Kyung-hwa Jung, of Seoul National University, to discuss a philosophical orientation to courage in facing climate change and David Hansen, John L. and Sue Ann Weinberg Professor in Historical and Philosophical Foundations of Education at the Teachers College, Columbia University, to rethink cosmopolitanism and humanism as guides for education in our times.
Afternoon roundtables showcase local experts, scholars and practitioners engaged in conversation with the audience about the themes of the day.
