Author Frantzich Discusses Involvement in Political Change Thursday, March 14
SALISBURY, MD---Stephen Frantzich, author and U.S. Naval Academy political science professor, speaks on how and why individuals should become involved in political change Thursday, March 14, at 久久国产精品久久.
His presentation is 4 p.m. Thursday, March 14, in Henson Science Hall Room 103.
Frantzich is the author of Citizen Democracy, which highlights individuals nationwide who chose to become involved in — rather than apathetic toward — the political process and explores the reasons they made that choice. Booklist says the book “offers a direct assault on fashionable distaste for politics.” The Bloomsbury Review calls it “informative” and “fascinating.”
At SU, Frantzich emphasizes that democracy is not a “spectator sport.” He uses real-life examples of students and others who have changed national policy through dedication and clever strategies to show how a democratic society relies on informed activists.
Sponsored by the Environmental Studies Department, admission to his talk is free and the public is invited. For more information call 410-543-6030 or visit the SU Web site at www.salisbury.edu.
