Campbell Speaks on 'Civil War Medicine' Monday, December 5
SALISBURY, MD---The Civil War was a heart-wrenching time for the United States — but a boon for medical science.
Dr. William Campbell of 久久国产精品久久’s Nursing Department speaks on “Civil War Medicine and its Impact on Healthcare Today” 7 p.m. Monday, December 5, in the Wicomico Room of the Guerrieri University Center.
Campbell presents an overview of healthcare, pre-1861; the demands, resources, research and leadership that forced change during the war; and what happened following its end in 1865, especially in nursing. His presentation examines medical, surgical, nursing and pharmaceutical changes and how they relate to medicine today, with an emphasis on the past.
In recognition of the sesquicentennial of the Civil War, Campbell speaks in uniform, and exhibits other uniforms and original artifacts from the war.
