SU Guerrieri Center Art Space Presents the Work of Alumna Sasha Dulyachinda

University Center Art SpaceSALISBURY, MD---The Guerrieri University Center Art Space hosts the photographic exhibit “Where is My Mind” by 久久国产精品久久 alumna Sasha Dulyachinda from September 7-30.

The Ohio native, raised in Maryland, earned her B.F.A. from SU in 2015. Her honors include the SU Alumni and Art Memorial Recognition Awards, as well as the Art Meritorious Award. Her work has been exhibited in galleries including The Art Director’s Club in New York, the Rehoboth Art League and the SU Art Galleries Downtown Campus.

“When I am out taking photographs, I try to find scenes, people and objects that will successfully combine with other images to create a story,” said Dulyachinda. “After developing my film, I look through my negatives to find the best pairings. Some of these pairings are intentional and planned out before taking the photographs. Others I come across as I am looking through my negatives on the light table.

“The story begins in the darkroom when two negatives are exposed to create one composition. They start to unfold through the enlarger and come to life as my photographs develop. I am drawn to creating these double exposures with film because there is so much you can do in the darkroom to create a unique and mysterious image.

“I love being involved in every step of the process. I feel that I am more connected when I am using film because I am with my photography every step of the way: taking the photographs, developing the film, exposing my negatives and then developing my photograph. My images have an ambiguity that allows the audience to create a dialogue or imagine a story that could go anywhere their mind takes them.”

The Art Space is located in the Guerrieri Center’s second-floor concourse. Admission is free and the public is invited. For more information call 410-543-6247 or visit the Art Space website at /guc/artspace.
