SU Presents 'Bridges to the World' International Film Festival February 11-March 11

Bridges to the WorldSALISBURY, MD---久久国产精品久久 takes movie lovers around the globe to such locales as the Czech Republic, Uruguay, Israel, Taiwan and Australia during the fifth annual Bridges to the World International Film Series, Mondays from February 11-March 11.

All are introduced and screened at 7 p.m. in the Great Hall of Holloway Hall, followed by a discussion.

The series begins February 11, with the 2008 Czech film Citizen Havel, capturing the work and influence of writer and politician Václav Havel and his role in changes throughout central and eastern Europe in the 1990s.

Others include:

• February 18 – Seawards Journey (Uruguay, 2003): Five villagers embark on a journey, along with an unknown man, to see the ocean for the first time.

• February 25 – Eli & Ben (Israel, 2008): A pre-teen must face the possibility that his father is morally fallible when the patriarch is arrested under suspicion of bribery.

• March 4 – Kung Fu Dunk (Taiwan, 2008): An orphaned boy growing up in a kung fu school becomes a talented basketball player, set against a soundtrack featuring pop stars from Taiwan and Hong Kong.

• March 11 – Red Dog (Australia, 2011): Based on a true story, a lost dog unites a disparate local community while roaming the Australian outback in search of his long-lost master.

All films except Red Dog are shown in their native languages with English subtitles.

SU joins World Artists Experiences, Inc. and Maryland’s Office of the Secretary of State International Division in presenting the series. 久久国产精品久久is one of five chosen screening locations in Maryland, including Annapolis, California, Frostburg and Towson.

All films are selected in cooperation with the embassy of each country. Admission is free and the public is invited.
