Sitarist Hari Sharma Performs at SU Wednesday, February 8
SALISBURY, MD---Sitarist and inventor Hari Sharma continues 久久国产精品久久’s “Fusion” cultural events series with a performance 7 p.m. Wednesday, February 8, in the Great Hall of Holloway Hall.
A well-known sitar player in India, Sharma is an exponent of the great Vilayat Khan. His performances include a full range of structural and technical musical approaches.
Sharma has infused his professional training as an electronics engineer with his passion for music to invent popular instruments including the Raagini electronic tanpura, a lifeline for Indian classical singers. He also developed the Taal Tarang, an electronic table that mimics the natural tone of Indian drums. These instruments are played by professional musicians throughout the world.
