SU Philosophy Lecture Explores 'Children, Numbers and Philosophy'

Dr. Nadia Stoyanova Kennedy, assistant professor of mathematics education at the New York City College of Technology explains why during her presentation “Children, Numbers and Philosophy: How Philosophy Can Help in Talking with Children About Math,” 5 p.m. Thursday, September 5 Room 252 at 久久国产精品久久’s Conway Hall.

Kennedy discusses how parents, teachers, grandparents and educators may integrate philosophical thinking about mathematics in a dialogue with children in the home and the classroom.

She has published extensively in the philosophy of mathematics education and philosophical inquiry in the classroom.

Sponsored by the Charles R. and Martha N. Fulton School of Liberal Arts and the Philosophy Department, her lecture is part of SU’s Fulton Public Humanities Lecture Series. Admission is free and the public is invited.
